Luke Strotman's 2024 NFL Mock Draft: 2.0
ROUND ONE
1. Bears: (via CAR): Caleb Williams, QB, USC: He likes pink and is the new face of the Bears' franchise now.
2. Commanders: Jayden Daniels. QB, LSU: I believe Daniels has worked his way to being in the running for the second pick in the draft, where Washington would love to have him to give the franchise new hype.
3. Patriots: Drake Maye, QB, UNC: The Mac Jones experiment didn’t work out as planned and Bailey Zappe isn't a long-term answer. The problem is that the two teams in front of them also need a quarterback, so they will most likely be taking whoever falls to them.
4. Vikings (via ARZ): J.J McCarthy, QB, Michigan: I could see the Vikings giving away a couple of picks (11, 23, and a fifth-rounder next year) for the right to draft McCarthy and their next franchise quarterback.
5. Chargers: Marvin Harrison, WR, Ohio State: The overall best player in the draft finds himself going to a team that has a top-tier quarterback and just got rid of its two best receivers. Any other draft and Harrison is easily a top-2 pick.
6. Giants: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington: After failing to bring in a big-time free agent and losing their star running back, the Giants need to find a solid, electrifying piece to add to their offense.
7. Titans: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame: The Titans are in sort of a rebuild mode, and while they have what looks like a solid young quarterback in Will Levis, they still need to put together a good enough offensive line to protect him.
8. Falcons: Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama: Atlanta has found its new quarterback in Kirk Cousins, and with an offense filled with a bunch of playmakers, they can focus on using the draft to rebuild the defense. It starts by grabbing the best pass rusher in the draft.
9. Seahawks (via CHI): J.C Latham, OT, Alabama: Sending No. 16 along with a third and fifth-round pick to grab your franchise left tackle is a move Seattle makes here. Chicago would be the perfect trade partners with just four picks in the draft.
10. Jets: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia: The Jets clearly wanted a tackle last year, but all the top ones were taken before they could make a pick. This year they get one of the highest rising lineman in Mims, who played in the SEC against some of the best rushers in college.
11. Cardinals (via MIN): Malik Nabers, WR, LSU: The Cardinals have so many needs, but thankfully they have the most picks of any team this year, so there will be plenty of opportunities to fill needs with great players. They do here with Nabers, arguably the second best receiver in the class.
12. Broncos: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington: With Russell Wilson gone, Denver will be in the mix to draft a quarterback, especially early in the draft. The only question is: Who will still be on the board by the time they decide to take one?
13. Raiders: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia: Davante Adams can’t do it all alone after some salary cap-saving moves, and Bowers could be one of the biggest steals of the draft if he falls out of the top 10.
14. Saints: Byron Murphy Jr., DT, Texas: A big, physical body to help fill the holes in the defensive line and help an aging group against a division filled with great running backs and quarterback play.
15. Colts: Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama: The AFC South has a lot of great receivers and it doesn't help that the Colts secondary is a weak spot. Adding a player like Arnold can help fix all that.
16. Bears (via SEA): Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon: The Bears will need to find the perfect set of linemen to protect their new quarterback, and Johnson is the best interior lineman in his class.
17. Jaguars: Laiatu Latu, DE, UCLA: The Jags were in the middle of the league last year with 40 sacks, so there's still some room to improve if they expect to return to the postseason.
18. Bengals: Troy Fautanu, OT, Penn State: Losing Lonah Williams to free agency opens a hole on a not-so-good line to help protect Joe Burrow.
19. Rams: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama: Arguably the best corner in the draft, but he falls here with so many talented offensive players. The Rams get a steal this late in the first round.
20. Steelers: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma: Whether it's Russell Wilson or Justin Fields taking the majority of snaps next year, the Steelers are committed to what the future of the team looks like and need to improve the offensive line to make it all work.
21. Dolphins: Jer’Han Newton, DT, Illinois: Newton is a fierce competitor who has the capabilities to be a top010 pick, but this won’t be a defense-focused draft. Miami does need to replenish their defensive line and gets good value here.
22. Eagles: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson: It was clear that a weak secondary hurt Philly's chances of returning to the Super Bowl. Wiggins is a solid coverage guy who can make a difference on any unit.
23. Cardinals (via MIN): Jared Verse, DE, FSU: It would be hard for Arizona to pass on Harrison Jr. but they trade back for arguably the second or third best pass rusher in Verse.
24. Cowboys: Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State: Dallas was very quiet in free agency and lost some key pieces to last year’s team, including one of the best tackles the league has seen in Tyron Smith.
25. Packers: Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa: A plug-and-play kind of secondary guy, Cooper is the kind of player that would make a secondary see an instant improvement, especially for a team like Green Bay.
26. Buccaneers: Brian Thomas Jr, WR, LSU: Mike Evans signed for two more years, but there’s no guarantee that he's there much longer, so Tampa needs to start finding the kind of player to replace him when that day eventually comes.
27. Cardinals: Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan: Continuing to improve the defensive will go a long way for Arizona if they want to find a way to be the best in the division.
28. Bills: Adoni Mitchell, WR, Texas: The best playmaker for Texas last year would be a massive upgrade for Buffalo's current WR group after they lost Gabe Davis to free agency and traded away Stephon Diggs to Houston.
29. Lions: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo: Mitchell has been helping his draft stock with a good pro day and combine. Detroit had eyes on a few corners last year they didn’t get, so maybe they will find their guy here in the first round.
30. Ravens: Olu Fashanu, OT, PSU: A team like Baltimore can never have too much help on the offensive line, and tackle is the weakest spot for them. Adding a guy like Fashanu would be a huge upgrade.
31. 49ers: Junior Colson, LB, Michigan: The loss of Dre Greenlaw hurt San Fran's defense in the Super Bowl (they were shutting Mahomes and the Chiefs down before he torer his Achilles). There's no guarantee he’s back and ready for the season opener, so looking for an upgrade at his spot could be key in this draft.
32. Chiefs: Chop Robinson, DE, PSU: At this point, Kansas City doesn’t need many upgrades. They could use another solid pass rusher for a defensive line that has a few guys up there in age.
Round 2
33. Panthers: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas: Carolina had to give up their best receiver last year in order to move up to the first pick last year to grab their franchise quarterback in Bryce Young, and they struggled because of it. Getting a burner like Worthy, who ran a 4.21 40-yard dash at the combine, would be huge for Young.
34. Patriots: Keon Coleman, WR, FSU: Like Carolina, New England needs to find that playmaker to help their young quarterback (whoever they take at 3 most likely) find success early on. Coleman has the potential to be a top-20 selection, but more than likely will find his way as an early Day 2 pick.
35. Cardinals: T.J Tampa, CB, Iowa State: The NFC West has a couple of nice playmakers and Arizona is a bit thin at corner. This is a perfect fit.
36. Commanders: Patrick Paul, OT, Houston: A great pass protector and solid enough in the run game makes Paul the kind of player that Washington would love to see protect their quarterback for years to come.
37. Chargers: Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas: Getting Justin Herbert as much help in the passing game as possible will go a long way toward finally getting back to the playoffs and making a deep run under new coach Jim Harbaugh.
38. Titans: Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota: There are many questions about Tennessee as they enter a rebuilding year. One of those is how will they improve a weak secondary? Their potential best players haven’t played that much over the last few years, but the draft is strong with secondary players who can make a quick impact.
39. Panthers: Graham Barton, OG, Duke: With the release of last year's starting center Bradley Bozeman, there's a huge hole to fill, especially with a young quarterback who struggled under pressure last year.
40. Commanders: Austin Booker, DE, Kansas: Washington knew it was going to lose some of its best pass rushers last year, so they made the most of it by trading and getting value for them. Now need to replace them. Booker is a somewhat underrated pass rusher in the draft with a high motor makes him a serious threat on the outside. Maybe my favorite under-the-radar player in the draft.
41. Packers: Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona: Losing some key blockers for Jordan Love, it's clear where most of the attention needs to be for Green Bay going into the draft. I don’t think Morgan would fall this far, but if he does the Packers would be very happy to grab him.
42. Texans: Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson: While C.J. Stroud made elite strides last year as a rookie, the defense still needed some work, especially up front to help take some attention off edge rusher Will Anderson.
43. Falcons: Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia: An absolute stud when it comes to guarding receivers, Lassiter just needs to get better at locating the ball and bringing it in. He'll get that chance to improve at the next level.
44. Raiders: Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan: Letting go of long-time fan favorite Hunter Renfrow opens a spot at the slot position for the Raiders. It's a spot Wilson should excel at in the pros.
45. Saints: Darius Robinson, DE, Missouri: The Saints are a mess when it comes to their salary cap due to locking in older players for long-term deals, and a good amount of that comes on the defensive line. The younger and better they get at this spot on the team, the better the future will look for them.
46. Colts: Edgerrian Cooper, LB, Texas A&M: Indy is thin at linebacker, especially when it comes to who the leader of the defense should be. Cooper has the mentality to be the kind of leader they want.
47. Giants: Bo Nix, QB, Oregon: Nix could very well be a first-round option, but with not many teams outside the top-10 needing one right away and others needing to fill other holes, it’s possible Nix falls out of the first round. Daniel Jones has yet to live up to his contract and could be out of New York if he doesn’t turn it around.
48. Jaguars: Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri: Near the bottom of the league last year defending the pass, work needs to be done for the Jags to prove they are the team to beat in the AFC South.
49. Bengals: Cade Stover Jr., TE, OSU: Wide receiver isn’t a big need for Cincinnati, who still has Ja’Marr Chase (arguably the best in the league) and got solid production from their rookies last year, too. Tight end, however, is a different story. Stover should see significant action right away.
50. Eagles: Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia: Nobody can replace the leadership Jason Kelce brought to the team, but in terms of talent, Frazier could have the chance to help replace a fair amount of it.
51. Steelers: Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia: Tough situation for Pittsburgh, who outside of George Pickens hasn’t seen the production from the wide receiver position that they would’ve loved to be seen based on how high they’ve taken some guys. McConkey is the kind of player that will change that. His numbers don’t look strong, but whose can when they have Brock Bowers as a teammate?
52. Rams: Brandon Friske, DT, FSU: Like Jason Kelce, there’s no way anyone can replace what Aaron Donald gave the Rams every week of every year. What Friske can make them feel they still have is an interior guy with a high motor.
53. Eagles: Kamren Kitchens, S, Miami: Secondary help in this draft is key for the Eagles to regain the title as best team in the NFC. Kitchens has the coverage abilities that will make an impact right away to whatever team takes a chance on him.
54. Browns: Payton Wilson, LB, NC State: A bit of an injury history might hurt Wilson's draft stock, but when he’s healthy he looks like a first-round type of player. Cleveland did a good job addressing the offense in free agency and can now use the draft to focus on the defense.
55. Dolphins: Christian Hayes, OG, UConn: Miami needs as much help on the offensive line as it can get to help make sure QB Tua Tagovailoa has a long, healthy career. Hayes does just that.
56. Cowboys: Blake Corum, RB, Michigan: With Tony Pollard gone, Dallas is looking for someone who can handle a solid workload. Corum is that guy after helping lead Michigan to a National Championship.
57. Buccaneers: Chris Braswell, Edge, Alabama: Being in the shadows of both Will Anderson and Dallas Turner meant many people didn’t see the full domination Braswell brought to Alabama on a weekly basis.
58. Packers: Brandon Dorlus, DT, Oregon: This may not be a big need, but the Packers like to take players who fall in the draft, especially early. Dorlus fits that bill.
59.Texans: Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame: Solid speed with good size helps make him a decent prospect, but he's still raw when it comes to making plays.
60. Bills: Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami: Defense will only become more important for this team given the losses it suffered on offense this offseason.
61. Lions: Michael Hall, DT, OSU: He's a big body bully who wants to just punish linemen and get to the ball and make every play. He's a bit raw as of now but has the potential to be one of the best at his position for years to come.
62. Ravens: Xavier Leggette, WR, South Carolina: Yes, Lamar Jackson is a great quarterback, but the problem is when he needs to make a play in the passing game, his receivers are limited. Having a big-time playmaker at the position alongside Zay Flowers can help make this offense even scarier.
63. 49ers: Marshawn Kneeland, DE, Western Michigan: Losing some of their best last year from trades has left the pass rush a weak spot. Look for them to address this need with a few picks this year, especially early.
64. Chiefs: Javon Foster, OT, Missouri: Great in the pass protection game but needs work with his run blocking. He's a prospect who could develop well in this system.
ROUND THREE
65. Panthers: Audric Estime, HB, Notre Dame
66. Cardinals: T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas
67. Commanders: Chaw Smith-Wade, CB, Washington State
68. Patriots: Brendon Rice, WR, USC: The son of all time great Jerry Rice, Brendon can help be a solid target for whoever the Patriots decide to be their future signal caller.
69. Chargers: Calen Bullock, S, USC
70. Giants: Cooper Beebe, OG, Kansas State
71. Cardinals: Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama
72. Jets: Michael Pratt, QB, Tulane: Aaron Rodgers isn’t playing another five years, and with Zack Wilson almost guaranteed to be out soon, the Jets need to find their next quarterback. Pratt has the capabilities but needs to sit and get better before his time is called upon.
73. Lions: Sedrick Van Pram-Granger, OG, Georgia
74. Falcons: Max Melton, CB, Rutgers
75. Bears: Cole Bishop, S, Utah
76. Broncos: Maason Smith, DT, LSU
77. Raiders: Spencer Rattler, QB, South Carolina: Aiden O’Connell showed some good things last year as a rookie filling in, but he didn’t show enough that he's the long-term answer. The Raiders will think about competition, and with a strong quarterback class this year, Rattler becomes great value this late.
78. Commanders: Ben Sinnott, TE, Kansas State
79. Falcons: Jonah Elliss, DE, Utah
80. Bengals: Johnny Dixon, CB, Penn State
81. Bears (via SEA): DJ James, CB, Auburn
82. Colts: McKInnley Jackson, DT, Texas A&M
83. Rams: Bralen Trice, DE, Washington
84. Steelers: Renardo Green, CB, FSU
85. Browns: Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky:
86. Texans: Cedric Gray, LB, UNC
87. Cowboys: Rickey Pearsall, WR, Florida
88. Packers: Jeremiah Trotter, LB, Clemson
89. Buccaneers: Matt Goncalves, OT, Pitt
90. Cardinals: Jaylen Wright, HB, Tennessee
91. Packers: Will Shipley, RB, Clemson
92. Buccaneers: Mohamed Kamara, DE, Colorado State
93. Ravens: Khristian Boyd, DT, Northern Iowa
94. 49ers: Kingsley Suamatia, OT, BYU
95. Chiefs: Ja’Lynn Polk, WR, Washington
96. Jaguars: Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
97. Bengals: Javon Bullard, CB, Georgia
98. Steelers: Julian Pearl, OT, Illinois
99. Rams: Layden Robinson, OG, Texas A&M
100. Commanders: Zak Zinter, OG, Michigan
ROUND 4
101. Panthers: Kiren Amegadjie, OT, Yale: He may not have gone up against the best players, but he has potential to be a steal in this draft. Plus, his highlights were some of my favorites watching this year for sleepers.
102. Seahawks: Adisa Isaac, DE, Penn State
103. Patriots: Dominick Puni, OT, Kansas
104. Cardinals: Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame
105. Chargers: Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri
106. Titans: Tez Walker, WR, UNC
107. Giants: Trey Benson, HB, FSU
108. Vikings: Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame
109. Falcons: Jacob Cowing, WR, Arizona
110. Chargers: Jase McClellan, HB, Alabama
111. Jets: Ro Torrence, CB, Arizona State
112. Raiders: Mike Sainristill, CB, Michigan
113. Ravens: Anthony Belton, OT, NC State
114. Jaguars: Justin Edgoigbe, DT, Alabama
115. Bengals: Jonathan Brooks, HB, Texas
116. Jaguars: Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State
117. Colts: Ainias Smith, WR, Texas A&M
118. Bears (via SEA): Tanor Bortolini, OG, Wisconsin
119. Steelers: Javon Baker, WR, UCF
120. Eagles: Jawhar Jordan, HB, Louisville
121. Broncos: Calean Carson, CB, Wake Forest
122. Bears: Johnny Wilson, WR, FSU
123. Texans: Xavier Thomas, DE, Clemson
124. 49ers: Beax Limmer, C, Arkansas
125. Buccaneers: Joe Milton, QB, Tennessee
126. Packers: Marcellus Dial, CB, South Carolina
127. Texans: Xavier Weaver, WR, Colorado
128. Bills: Dillon Johnson, HB, Washington
129. Vikings: Jackson Siranon, LB, Cal
130. Ravens: Tylee Smith, S, Georgia
131. Chiefs: Cornellius Johnson, WR, Michigan
132. 49ers: Jamari Thrash, WR, Louisville
133. Bills: James Williams, LB, Miami
134. Jets: Jaheim Bell, TE, FSU
135. 49ers: Kalen King, CB, Penn State
ROUND FIVE
136. Broncos: DeWayne Carter, DT, Duke
137. Patriots: Josh Newton, CB, TCU
138. Cardinals: Sam Hartman, QB, Notre Dame
139. Commanders: AJ Barner, TE, Michigan
140. Chargers: Bucky Irving, HB, Oregon
141. Panthers: Eric Watts, DE, UConn
142. Panthers: Marcus Rosemy-Jackson, WR, Georgia
143. Falcons: Gabriel Murphy, DE, UCLA
144. Bills: Javion Cohen, OG, Miami
145. Broncos: Bud Clark, CB, TCU
146. Titans: Ray Davis, RB, Kentucky: Losing legendary running back Derrick Henry leaves a huge hole in the running back room for Tennessee to try and fill. Davis may not have Henry’s power, but he’s elusive and should pair well with Tyjae Spears.
147. Broncos: Carlton Johnson, CB, Fresno State
148. Raiders: Matt Lee, C, Miami
149. Bengals: Trevin Wallace, LB, Kentucky
150. Saints: Isaiah Adams, OT, Illinois
151. Colts: Grayson Murphy, DE, UCLA
152. Commanders: Tommy Eichenberg, LB, OSU
153. Jaguars: Millard Bradford, S, TCU
154. Rams: Jarius Moore, CB, Tulane
155. Rams: Andrew Paym, OG, Oklahoma
156. Browns: Carson Stelle, HB, UCLA
157. Vikings: Fabian Lovett, DT, FSU
158. Dolphins: Dylan Laube, HB, New Hampshire
159. Chiefs: Evan Williams, S, Oregon
160. Bills: Luke McCaffrey, WR, Rice: Younger brother of star running back Christian, Luke may not have the same hype but could be a valuable piece to an offense like Buffalo.
161. Eagles: Erick All, TE, Iowa
162. Cardinals: Zion Tupuola-Fetui, LB, Washington
163. Bills: Brandon Coleman, OT, TCU
164. Lions: Malik Washington, WR, Virginia
165. Ravens: Austin Reed, QB, Western Kentucky
166. Giants: Trevor Keegan, OG Michigan
167. Cardinals (via MIN): Omar Brown, S, Nebraska
168. Saints: Tanner McLachlan, TE, Arizona
169. Packers: Tyrice Knight, LB, UTEP
170. Saints: Marcus Harris, DT, Auburn
171. Eagles: Sione Vaki, S, Utah
172. Eagles: Frank Gore Jr., HB, Sothern Miss
173. Chiefs: Christan Mahogonny, OG, Boston College
174. Cowboys: Isaiah Williams, OG, Illinois
175. Saints: Cody Schrader, HB, Missouri
176. 49ers: Jha’quan Jackson, WR, Tulane
1. Bears: (via CAR): Caleb Williams, QB, USC: He likes pink and is the new face of the Bears' franchise now.

103. Patriots: Dominick Puni, OT, Kansas
104. Cardinals: Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame

143. Falcons: Gabriel Murphy, DE, UCLA
144. Bills: Javion Cohen, OG, Miami
145. Broncos: Bud Clark, CB, TCU
146. Titans: Ray Davis, RB, Kentucky: Losing legendary running back Derrick Henry leaves a huge hole in the running back room for Tennessee to try and fill. Davis may not have Henry’s power, but he’s elusive and should pair well with Tyjae Spears.
147. Broncos: Carlton Johnson, CB, Fresno State
148. Raiders: Matt Lee, C, Miami
149. Bengals: Trevin Wallace, LB, Kentucky
150. Saints: Isaiah Adams, OT, Illinois
151. Colts: Grayson Murphy, DE, UCLA
152. Commanders: Tommy Eichenberg, LB, OSU
153. Jaguars: Millard Bradford, S, TCU
154. Rams: Jarius Moore, CB, Tulane
155. Rams: Andrew Paym, OG, Oklahoma
156. Browns: Carson Stelle, HB, UCLA
157. Vikings: Fabian Lovett, DT, FSU
158. Dolphins: Dylan Laube, HB, New Hampshire
159. Chiefs: Evan Williams, S, Oregon
160. Bills: Luke McCaffrey, WR, Rice: Younger brother of star running back Christian, Luke may not have the same hype but could be a valuable piece to an offense like Buffalo.
161. Eagles: Erick All, TE, Iowa
162. Cardinals: Zion Tupuola-Fetui, LB, Washington
163. Bills: Brandon Coleman, OT, TCU
